Where does W. stop and O. start?

One wonders sometimes if regime change in Washington is just an illusion. The BP Gulf of Mexico catastrophe is a case in point. As Obama was making ready to be ‘mad’ at BP it is revealed that the White House colluded with BP to keep the full extent of the disaster from the public by allowing BP to withold a video of oil gushing out of the broken pipe from prying public eyes.

Firedoglake has an informative “White House Allowed BP to Keep Video of Gushing Pipe from Public for Three Weeks”post on the topic.

The revelation that the White House and BP kept the true extent of the oil disaster from the public coincides nicely with last night’s news that Obama plans to get “angry” in front of the White House press corps tomorrow about BP’s role in the disaster and its clean up. Don’t be fooled, though. The evidence is mounting that the White House is working in concert with industry to hide the truth about the extent and cause of the spill.

and the evidence mentioned is at NYT: Oil Regulators Routinely Violated Environmental Laws, Muzzled Scientists. Which concludes:

“The Administration has a general policy of “looking forward,” unwilling to expose misconduct and criminal behavior from the prior administration, while committing to do better going forward. It’s clear that’s not possible until the Administration cleans house and holds people accountable. Meanwhile, the Gulf and Gulf states are paying a terrible price for a lesson yet to be learned”

Reading these two posts is enough to make one’s blood boil. Unclear on why a vote should be used on people who continue with this corporate-cozy suicide ride.
